OK, but overpriced

Check in experience was very poor, automated machine. Room was clean, bathroom was updated and nice. However I find it very poor to spent > EUR 200/night to have no TV channels available and no heating a bit overpriced

Basic, no frills, good location

Very basic hotel. No amenities in room. Bathroom was nice, but no extra blanket or pillows. Entrance is strange - through the outdoor restaurant seating. Door is locked until a waiter sees you and lets you in, until after you get your key. Then you’re at a self-service check-in. It works, but it’s very impersonal. Room was clean but hallways and stairs were dirty.

All was great except the noise.

The hotel is in a great location! Wonderful for sight-seeing, it was very clean, the restaurant was very busy! The only downfall was that there was no air conditioning, which made us keep the window open. Even this we could have lived with, as they provided a new fan. But the noise from outside: from sirens, to motorcycles, to an early-morning trash truck, they made it difficult to sleep. Everything was great except the noise. In a cooler time of year, these would not have been an issue.

Check-in kiosk was took many steps to use, and it did not end up working. Going upstairs to reception there was no one there. Tried calling and someone hung up on me. Waited about 20 minutes for someone to come and check me in- told I needed to use kiosk that didn't work. Once finally checked in, room was fine. Lots of noise from outside due to construction for Cologne pride and being on a main street. Again for check-out, had to use the kiosk, which said there was no record of my reservation. Was in a hurry so just left key in the box. Really need to fix the kiosk system and have someone available at the reception. Hotel room itself was fine and clean, with gummy bears on the pillow, which was a cute touch.

Toplage am Heumarkt, Mobiliar im Zimmer zwar etwas altertümlich angehaucht aber Matratzen sehr bequem, Bad neu, schick und sauber. Wir kommen sehr gerne nächstes Jahr wieder, wenn wir das Amphi-Festival besuchen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich spitze. Man kann alles Sehenswerte problemlos erreichen. Das Personal ist freundlich. Die Zimmer in Ordnung. Nur die Parkmöglichkeiten sind richtig schlecht-man soll ins Parkhaus fahren und bezahlt dann für nicht einmal 24 Std ganze 32€!

Das Hotel ist höchstens gut für eine Nacht. Veraltete Einrichtung in den Zimmern, keine Klimaanlage, kein Safe, Kleiderschrank ohne Türen, Moibilar veraltet und abgenutzt. Matratzen hart, kann man sich grad sogut auf den Boden legen. Zimmer wurde nicht gereinigt ,nur Bett zugedeckt, keine Laken gewechselt. Putzfrau respektierte das "Bitte nicht stören Schild" nicht, und stand auf einmal im Zimmer, obwohl die Tür abgeschlossen war! Personal an der Rezeption zimlich unfreundlich. Ich werde nie mehr ein Zimmer da reservieren.

Great location with some updates

The hotel is in a great location for the Christmas markets. It's above a restaurant, which is where breakfast is served. Our room has a magnificent view of the market, and it had an updated bathroom. The bed and linens were comfortable and pristine. The hotel overall feels a little dated, but part of that is the sparse decoration. I needed ice for a cooler which the restaurant downstairs kindly provided. I tried to order a beer to bring back to the room from the restaurant, but that wasn't an option.
