Classy butlins. Well worth a vist of u have kids.

Lovely hotel, old tired but its nice. Had so much to do, my 10yr old wasnt board once. Allday and evening. The beds were a but lumpy. The pool was way to high in clorine it burnt my eye balls, and was even stronger in the jacuzzi, which on day two was extremely hot. The steam room didnt have the eucalyptus, which is a shame as really does make a difference. The out door pool was cold as ice!! I jumped in and couldnt get out fast enough, i then suffed with my chest cramping after for a short while. I really dont know how the kids handled it. The food had a little to be desired for, but was fine for a few days. We didnt want to venture much. BUT All in all, we will be going back, and probably for xmas, as its so close to home yet feels so far away, we even came home looking like wed been on holiday! We met mascot toby and made our own bears. We heald reptiles and bunny's. Tho we did make a dash for it when the snakes n tarantula came out. But it really was a great few days away.

If you don’t mind a tired and noisy hotel in need of some love and attention then this is fine. The room was clean, albeit very basic. The mattress was very soft. The sounds of doors banging in the corridors seemed to echo very loudly and there were constant streams of people making a lot of noise out side the from entrance (my room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the entrance). On Friday morning there was a laundry delivery at around 6am that woke me. All in all a good cheap hotel. I guess you get what you pay for and I did not pay much as I just needed a place to sleep.

Overall a good hotel, clean and comfy. Breakfast was good and available. Only down side was that there weren’t any glasses in the room for water.
Christine, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

We had a wonderful weekend as a family of four, staying in a one-bedroom apartment. Although we slept on a sofa bed in the lounge area, which wasn't very comfortable, perhaps investing in a new sofa would help. The kitchen was well-equipped with an oven and a large fridge-freezer. The leisure facilities were impressive, featuring several pools as well as a hot steam room and sauna. While we didn't dine at the restaurant, we enjoyed a couple of drinks there, although they were a bit pricey, prompting us to venture out for food and drinks on most days. We ordered from Deliveroo on the first evening, which was quite convenient, and we also had an amazing curry at a restaurant called Tariks, located on the road from Torquay to Paignton. Although the exterior didn't seem glamorous, the food quality was exceptional. While the hotel itself is somewhat dated, it served perfectly as a base for our stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly, always available to provide helpful information. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We came from the west midlands to torquay, 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 6. This hotel was perfect for us all. The kids always had something to do. We had 1 day of bad weather but we didnt care as there were alot to do in the hotel. My youngest (staying with me and my partner) went to the toby club and did somr clay making with matt who was lovely whilst my eldest went down to the bunker and went off with a few other children and the lady who ran the club. He loved it and we felt ok leaving him. The swimming was amazing, we went a few times, i used the sauna and steam room and loved it. Staff were lovely wherever we went. Around torquay is lovely too, we loved the crab catching which is a must to do. Overall we would definitely stay here again when we come back to Torquay.

The property was clean and tidy. It was very quiet and the services provided were amazing. The pool is free for guests of the hotel and it was just relaxing and the games room was great entertainment I didn’t even need to leave the hotel!!

We have stayed at the Derwent a few years back so we knew what to expect when we booked the Carlton, the hotel is very clean and bed was comfortable but the rooms are dated but have what you need for your stay. Staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was good.

Facilities, food and staff were amazing. Great activities on site. I will definitely returned. LOVE Torquay!!!
Avril, 5-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very tired round the edges, but still lots of fun.

Apon arrival the Carlton hotel is not well signposted from the main road, but we stumbled apon it. First impressions were okay, just a bit tired looking, apart from the car park being quite small and £10 a night. We had a family of four bedroom, and it had just enough room in it to walk around the 3 beds but that was it. It was a bit too cosy for us! (our children are 10 & 13) Although saying that there was plenty of storage space, plenty of hangers in the wadrobe, extra pillows ect. The beds are HARD! Both me and my other half, came home with bad backs. The pillows are also quite hard and flat. The room was very hot, a fan had been provided but it wasnt enough with 4 of us sleeping in a small room. The bathroom had everything expected but it was very tired! One big frustration for us was not enough plug sockets, and none beside the beds! The resort itself was good, its big, loads to do! Pool was nice, the family pool is very warm! Changing rooms again tired, but clean enough. The Aztec bistro food was brilliant, although bar service can be slow at peak times. Plenty of entertainment on offer, but we only did bingo and the arcades. In summary we would possibly stay again for the right price. The resort was overall good, but the bedroom really let down the stay for us.

What an amazing experience. However, I think that the entertainment for children should be Expanded.
