Changed for the Worse
The Woolstore has changed owners and what was once a pleasant place for us to stay turned into a very poor venue. We were given a room on the first floor (which I believe was not the queen room we paid for) and as it was situated right above the speakers for the non functioning restaurant sleep was next to impossible. When checking out this issue was reported to staff who explained it in terms of the change of ownership, a most unsatisfactory response. At the time we hadn’t checked the receipt to discover that we had been downgraded, we will pursue this via a separate email to the management. Given this experience we will look for alternative accommodation options when we travel to Sydney in the future.

The location is great, however the rooms need a bit of attention. Everything felt a bit grubby and our bathroom tap was loose, also some of the TV channels didn’t work and there was no option to cast/stream. Plus as the chain is now owned by Accor, the free mini bar is soft drinks only, despite the price of the room being the same. Overall a little disappointed.
