Food leaves much to be desired. A few good dishes between the four restaurants, but nothing to write home about. Travelling companion had water leaking into her room from the ceiling, by the gallon. Very old hotel and not super well maintained. Also would be nice if you could connect the tv to wifi so you can watch something that’s not Spanish.

My family and I had a great time at Sandos. The pools were breathtaking and the staff was beyond nice and welcoming. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable for 3 people. I loved the food at the buffet, i tend to get sick at all inclusive resorts but this was not the case at Sandos. The resort is small and intimate which we really enjoyed. The property is clean and has a few convenient spots across. My only recommendation would be to book all excursions at La Isla rather than at the hotel where they charge 3x more.

Arriving here after the airport transfer and seeing all the other nice hotels available was really disappointing. Pool hasn’t been updated in several years: missing tiles, and the white tiles are discoloured yellow. Pool ambiance is weird: if you’re sitting near the building you’re either hearing the AC fans, or horrible DJ music, or worse yet the pool party singer (off-key). We had a good laugh about this, but it makes sitting Oceanside that much more favourable. The chairs between ocean and pool are reserved for “Royal Elite” (VIP tier). Keep in mind depending on your dates: Sunday evenings the restaurants have limited menu. And Monday morning seems to be the day they do maintenance by the pool: power saw from 8-10am, clipping hedges, painting, roofing. To be fair, the only annoying thing was the power sawing. The sun: In December, you lose most of the sun between 1-4pm (it goes behind neighbour hotel building) depending on where you’re sitting. Usually we were able to move and stay sunny and warm until around 3, which was ideal for us anyways. The positives… There are servers that will bring your drinks to your chair by the pool or ocean/beach. Just bring pesos to tip them though. We were able to make reservations for the 3 restaurants available. There are small activities easy to participate in like yoga, aqua fit and the 9pm bar singer. Just realize what you’re paying for when you book it!!!

The hotel is old and in need of renovation. The food offerings were dismal. The beach felt unsafe as the "vendors" would hide on the hotel property when police come around to patrol. The staff working at the beach and lifeguard station seem to be lookouts for vendors hiding from police and we felt unsafe as we watched this happen.

I was very torn with this review as to put 3 or stars... let me explain, upon arrival I had to move rooms 3 times due to maintenance issues including a leaking sink, no hot water in shower, a leaking roof, and a moldy bed. However, once I completed my final move then my room was amazing and the staff were kind enough to compensate for these issues to rectify the problem upon request. The positives with this hotel included the staff, ALL of the staff was exceptional, particularly Daniel, Karla, Valeria and Itzel from the entertainment who were personable, genuine, and kind. Eleazar who was also extroadinary in making connections with guests. Finally, Teresa from the spa made a positive impact on my spa experience, she provided the best massage I have ever received. The overall resort could have more to do, some food like gaijan and fratinnis is amazing, other food options are just okay. My biggest issue was maintenance as moving 3 times took a big chunk of time out of my vacation.

We enjoyed our stay. The food is amazing. Quality buffet. Friendly and helpful staff. I would rate it excellent, however the techno music blasting LOUD at the pool all day keeps me from doing so. It’s ridiculous, because the average age of the guest is probably around 55 to 60 yet they play loud techno in the bars, pool and even the lobby. They need to learn their demographic…..it’s not spring break rave fest crowd. A little quiet or peaceful music while trying to relax by the pool would have been appreciated. That one thing would keep me from returning.
