Would not recommed
Starting with the positive, when we checked in and out the reception staff were really friendly.
The accomodation however was really poor. Very dated and shabby and not clean. We opened the sheets on the bed and found 5 or 6 long black hairs....hoping they were clean sheets but perhaps the cleaner just didn't have their hair up?
The bed was springy and bouncy and felt really old. The soundproofing was non-existent and we could hear every movement from the floor above, including the shower and taps.
The area is very dog friendly, but the rooms here aren't really cleaned sufficiently and my husband has a slight allergy and was constantly sneezing.
It was so bad my husband immediately wanted to leave...but I persuaded him as we had traveled far we could make it through one night and then leave, losing the second night payment for the room.
It also wasn't a particularly cheap room, from memory about £180 per night.
The town itself is quite quaint, with a few breweries and nice beaches. We drove through Mendocino which looks a bit more lively with better hotels, so would probably advise staying there if you're in the area. The second night we actually drove to Petaluma (about 2.5 hours) and booked a Hampton Inn which was about half the price and seemed like pure luxury in comparison!
