Inadequate service

Not great, tv wouldn’t work and we had planned an early dinner followed by relaxing in front of tv. No one could get hold of decaf tbags after 3 attempts of delivery decaf coffee, then earl grey then ordinary bags. Offered to move us but timing was not great

I have stayed in The Cube on quite a frequent basis but i fear my most recent will be the last. What has happened at The Cube? my first room was ...... lets say grubby not a good start with the dirty footprints on the bathroom floor but the cables hanging from the back of the TV just gave the impression that nobody cares, but the final straw for that room (which is in effect a glass box with no opening windows was the failure of the air conditioning leaving the room like a sauna. On request for an alternative room I was told it wouldn't make a difference because none of the rooms had working air-con. But at least I would have a TV........ I thought but no, this one would not switch on. By now I just couldn't be bothered anymore. So if you like an evening of wondering around the city and then back to a hothouse to watch youtube on your phone this place would be fantastic..... for everyone else, give it a miss.

NO AC in the Hotel - Rooms are a SAUNA.

The hotel had no AC and the room was like a sauna. There were 2 fans but all they did was blow warm air. Went to Reception to complain and was told all rooms were like that due to facing the sun. Was offered a refund and told to find alternative accomodation which wasnt great service. Then I was told that the Hotel hasnt had AC in the rooms for 2 years and that explained it. Will never come back here, there should have been a disclaimer on the website at time of booking as I would have arranged an alternative hotel.

Hot and hotter

The room was ridiculously hot. Air con didnt work in mine and colleagues room. As rooms on 23/24 floor can understand why you can't open windows. There was also no cold water in the taps. It was either hot or hotter. Shower was very poweful if you could deal with the 3rd degree burns. Rest of the place is good with a great breakfast and roof top bath

Air con breaks don’t stay if the weather is good

Do not stay here if it is remotely warm outside. The air con was not working and hadn’t been for a few days. The room was unbearable hot and I got almost no sleep. On speaking to another guest it wasn’t the first time either. Fans provided just push hot air around as the floor to ceiling windows act as a greenhouse and make it far hotter than outside. Whilst the lady on reception did her best to help, the male receptionist was very rude to me when I spoke with him and another guest.

FURNACE!!!!!

Absolutely awful . The whole building was like a furnace, i was given a fan for my room and it didn't make a slight bit of positive difference. The bed two poor quality singles pushed together with a huge dip in the middle. Overall the worst stay in a hotel i have had for a long time and i stay in hotels weekly

Terrible experience!

I personally expressed deep dissatisfaction with my recent booking. After a canceled flight and lost luggage, I arrived exhausted at the hotel, only to be met by a cold and shockingly unprofessional front desk staff member. Apple Pay wasn’t accepted—unexpected, but manageable. I was then asked to pay a £50 deposit, with no receipt provided. As my employer strictly requires receipts, I politely questioned this. When I suggested that perhaps I should cancel the booking, the receptionist abruptly snapped: “THAT’S OK! Take your stuff and never come back!” I initially walked out in shock, but returned after 30 seconds to ask if this was really necessary—she repeated the demand I leave. I was treated with zero empathy, and the hostility from this staff member was deeply unsettling. With few options left that evening, I had to book into the Hyatt at a much higher price. It’s been a week with no refund or contact. I understand policies vary, but no guest—especially one already in distress—should be treated with such cruelty and dismissal. This was not just poor service—it was a total collapse of professional and human decency. I felt humiliated, abandoned, and frankly shocked that a Hotels.com partner would allow such behavior. I expect a full investigation, accountability, and fair compensation for one of the most degrading travel experiences I’ve ever endured. Please let me know if I can provide any further details.

Reception staff on arrival rude and sarcastic esp Reception Manager. No air conditioning. Had two rooms one had average air con the other none. Lack of air con not highlighted by staff. Could have been managed so much better. Room phone not working. Took 2 hours for second fan to arrive. Cold water tap regularly issued hot water. So, a number of HSE issues. Left after 1 of 3 nights. Reception staff on second day much more helpful. Went to Hotel du Vin which was first class.

Night stay

It was not good when we first arrived, the hotel room was so hot… told air on don’t work & it got even worse after dinner :( we had to leave & go home as it wasn’t good to sleep, very disappointing
