Our stay at the Blackstone in Lead, So. Dakota, was terrible! The desk personnel was pleasant. And friendly. But there was so much wrong with the room. I wish I had never used hotel.com to reserve my room. The hotel Blackstone in Lead South Dakota was given a score of 8. By hotel.com. Nothing could be further from the truth. I would give it possibly a score of -10.
1. Carpet and floors, dirty, and stained.
2. Had to call to have TV turn on. And after
3. Could not shut the TV off.
4. Refrigerator in room did not work even after I turned it on. Therefore, we lost our food.
5. Heater malfunctioned.
6. Hairdryer unit came completely out of the wall.
7. Toilet paper holder came out of the wall.
8. Bathroom floor dirty.
9. One packet of decaf coffee and 1 cup in the room upon arrival instead of the usual two regular and two decaf packets.
10. Towels were worn thin and small.
11. Before leaving for the day, we gave staff a list of things that needed taken care of while we were out and upon our return 10 hours later nothing was completed.
12. Beds were uncomfortable/lumpy.
13. The room had an odd odor.
When I asked if I could change my reservation, I was told no because I had gone through hotel.com paid and reserved the room. I hope to hear from hotel.com and possibly receive some type of compensation for our Terrible Experience and Stay at the Blackstone hotel.
