I enjoyed my stay and discovered the new dog park out the back of the hotel which is an excellent asset for dog owners like me. One recommendation would be to put some lights there for nighttime, as I couldn't see to clean up after my dog at 7.30 pm due to the dark.
I did also have an unpleasant experience when checking in. I was checked in by Shelley (apologies if I've misspelled the name). Because I had never stayed here before, I questioned what the second rule meant on the "rules for dog owners" and her tone was dismissive and rude - I showed her the form. She explained it meant that Hagley Park and the back of the hotel were places to take your pet for toilet stops and to pick up after them, which made sense ( I hadn't known Hagley Park was close to the hotel either). Unfortunately, it was the sarcastic tone that left me feeling very uncomfortable. And it continued through the whole check-in experience.
I later met another staff member who asked how I was finding the dog park and my interaction with this staff member was enjoyable, which made up for the communication at the beginning.
