This is easily one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Sure the place is sort of cheap, but I feel like they should have given me money to stay there. The room was more than worn out, it felt torn up. There was a literal whole in the wall, there were more than one place where the skreds were not done, and the bed was tiny for two people. Moreover, the whole place smelled like weed. The only positive thing I have to say is, that the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Will definitely never book this again.

The room was reasonably clean but could do with a bit of freshening up. The reception on the tv was poor. Wardrobe didn’t contain any clothes hangers. Chest of drawers had broken and faulty drawers. Strong smell of plaster when entering the room, even though the windows were open. Kitchen/dining area was closed due to it being revamped. Staff were very friendly and polite.

First the positives, warm welcoming and helpful staff. Bedding was clean and towels ok. Negatives, very tired property, not well maintained and dirty in many areas. No tv channels available in room, no spoon to make tea (stirred it with the non-brush end of my toothbrush). The area where the hotel is positioned is not the best, I felt a little uncomfortable walking back to my room at around 11pm. Personally, although the staff were good, I will not stay there again.

Dump - this hotel is desperately in need of some investment. The bathrooms are falling to pieces with missing tiles, holes in the wall, and old tired shower didnt work. From the outside it looks abandoned with broken windows and missing cladding panels - very tired, and battered in a really rough run-down area of Newport. Absolute dump of a hotel

The hotel is in a good location however the couple that was staying in the room next to mine where continuously fighting and arguing with each other until the early hours of the morning with one night them playing loud music until 5am which if you are in Newport for work and cannot sleep due to this is not good
