I’ve been coming to the Caseville area for years and as far as motels go this is by far the best! Room was clean, and beautifully decorated. A wonderful flat screen and a fridge as well. Great place to land for a weekend in the thumb!

Very nice remodel

This is one of the old timey motels that has been revamped and it's the best one I've been to. The owners have done a nice job with the rooms - at least the one I was in. Very nice design, nice layout, comfortable bed with quality linens - bed and bath - which is not always the case for any line of lodging, great appliances and supplies. A bit over a mile from Port Austin proper. Great place to explore from.

When choosing a pet friendly hotel you usually have trade some comfort. Not here! It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed the pool, lake, and nearby resturaunts and hiking. We will definitely be back!

The room was clean and comfortable. The microwave and mini fridge / freezer were quite new and had a cool retro vibe. The paint and decorations looked fresh and clean. Bathroom fixtures also looked updated. Check in was super easy. They just email you an access code for your room so you don't even need to stop by the front desk.

The renovations and updates at the property were very well thought out. We were super comfortable here. We didn't realize until we arrived how centrally located it was for everything we wanted to do and see as we had never been to this area before. The renovations were great. Place was spotless and you could tell brand new. Would definitely stay there again. Convenient to the town. Only complaint is there should be a rubber mat or grab bar in the shower as it was a little slippery. Other than that - beautiful place!

A Family Resort

The room was very nice, and clean. Need to remember children are welcome, so it can be loud at times. Pool was clean, but could have been warmer. The owner is very accommodating and professional. I would recommend Sun and Sand for younger families, with children.

Very cute and updated. Clean. Microwave, coffee and fridge cute and helpful. Pool was clean and nice. Lots of furniture around it. Volleyball. Campfire pit. Only negatives were parking was a bit tight confusing. Also, check out was 10:00 A.M. which is a a bit early. Usually 11:00 most other hotels.

This property is all under construction therefore there is a lot of construction material out and about, no sign or address and no one to provide any information. Luckily, I was able to reach someone on the phone to confirm I was at the right place. The interior of our room is nicely renovated however the toilet did not work.

This place was in the throes of a renovation, which was hit and miss. My room smelled strongly of new paint, lacked a screen on one of the windows (promptly replaced), and a door that would not shut properly without lifting. There is no one on premises to supervise and answer questions (I got lucky) especially after hours, and they were adamant that checkout is at 10:00 am, not later. With a 4:00 pm check-in and such an early checkout, you only get the room for 18 hours or less. The beds were new, but far too low to the floor and I kept banging my shins on the exposed bed frame - I've slept on futons that were more comfortable. Despite its name, it's NOT on the beach and did not appear to have any beach access, just a pool in back. This is just a mom and pop old motel, which doesn't get any better because of the yuppified remodel, and is only a "resort" in the sense that Applebees is "fine dining." There aren't a whole lot of options in the area, but I'll be searching for them if my travels take me back.
