Hotel was of a reasonable standard in a good location. Parking was limited but we were lucky enough to get a space when required.

Fabulous stay at The Hampton. Charming Inn with the most wonderful people. Restaurant fantastic with live music some nights that was terrific but no worries ends at appropriate hour. Perfect location for Edinburg or quick access to rail and air travel.

Nice small (only six rooms) hotel in Edinburgh

Nice hotel, run by nice guys! Restaurant and bar were very nice and rather recently renovated but room with bath was outdated and needed some love, but was clean! The shower machine thing sounded LOUD, so be prepared 😁

2/10 Poor

Awful and disgusted

Booked the Hampton for my wife and I and our elderly parents for staying in Edinburgh to see the Tattoo. First time my wife’s parents have been to the Tattoo and my Mother’s last time was 20+yrs ago. They were so looking forward to it but Hotel was awful. Rooms were so old and run down. Mould in the showers, fitted bed sheets that did not fit the bed (too small), carpets were dirty, dust and dead flies on the window sills in one room. Check-in was so disorganised and issues with parking as they had metal bins and trollers outside covering parking bays. Party in the bar that went on until after 2am with loud music and singing. Kept us all awake and our parents were so tired after a long day. Beds really uncomfortable. No regard for guests at hotel with loud music and noise from the party in the bar. Then loud shouting outside until gone 3am!!! To top it off in the morning breakfast was poor. Not the fault of the 1 member of staff who was doing the kitchen, cooking, order taking and service, he tried his best; but come on, 1 person on their own doing that. Tea was stewed so had to ask for fresh and cooked breakfast had ran out of stuff as Bank Holiday weekend and were closing so very little left. £170 per room per night and £12.99 for breakfast - really!!!! Was awful and never going back and feel robbed. Not a snob at all but this was horrendous for the price we paid and feel so embarrassed for our parents as this was meant to be a special memorable weekend for them!

Ideal for visiting Edinburgh

Very good location for visiting Edinburgh with buses every few minutes at the stop next to the hotel ( including the number 100 to and from airport). Nice pub and restaurant, tried and tested. We stayed 2 nights : comfy room and bed, shower a bit leaky and kitchen vents just below the window (hotels.com room) but quiet at night. Good breakfast.

8/10 Very good

Very friendly staff. Clean room. Big fluffy towels. Quiet area. Beautiful area. If i had to pick at anything its to keep the coffee, milk etc stocked each day rather than having to ask for it. But overall loved our stay and would definitely stay again without hesitation.

8/10 Very good

Great wee place! I was looking for somewhere for just one night with good links into Princes Street and there are lots of buses that take you in which takes 5mins as it’s on the main road into Edinburgh. This place is right across from Murrayfield if you’re a rugby fan! Nice little place. Bar area is nice, the rooms are slightly dated but clean and comfortable and great for a few nights in Edinburgh.

Would recommend

Our stay at the Hampton was very nice. Staff were extremely helpful. Especially the manager/supervisor on shift. Cant remenber his name. Breakfast was very good. A few things i would say that could be improved is the age of the room. By that i mean the floor was very uneven so it meant the drawers sat at an angle so the couldnt shut. Some of the drawers also needed to je fixed. The floor was very creaky. I also found there not to be enough power plungs for charging my various gadgets and have the lamps on. But overall i really enjoyed my stay. Well situated to bus and tram routes. And again cant say enough about your very friendly staff, they were amazing!!
