Nice, spacious, clean room, newly renovated older building. Somewhat tricky stairs with the luggage, but we were offered help. Things like soap were missing at check in, not a biggie but still. Also we requested the bedsofa to be made for my teenage son, which they forgot, and for some reason it wasn’t possible even to get sheets to do it ourselves, so we had to share bed the first night. Doable, but not what we booked. No offers of a discount or such for the inconvenience. Check in smooth, but at time for check out there was no staff at the reception, multiple guests were waiting impatiently for at least 15 minutes. I believe the hotel is a bit understaffed and hasn’t got hold of routines yet. But the staff was supernice when they were there!
As there is no breakfast offered (but free coffee/Tea and granolabars, so you won’t starve!), it is up to you to find a café for that. A recommendation for a good place for breakfast would have helped, for us who don’t live in Edinburgh. ;)
Biggest minus was the fan in the bathroom that was so noisy it woke everyone up if you had to use the bathroom at night.
