Extraordinarily comfortable and relaxing three nights in the centre of Christchurch. Food was excellent in the hotel but we were close enough to other fine restaurants and cafes that we could easily walk to them too. Very easy to get to and from the airport.

Great place to stay while in Christchurch! Staff is friendly and very responsive. Accidentally left an item in the room - got in touch with the hotel and they got everything lined up for me to get it picked up and followed up multiple times to make sure everything was good. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and the hotel is conveniently located close to the Riverside Market, and other attractions.

Highly recommend this hotel, it was five star but not stuffy. We had a suite, very spacious, bedding real comfortable. Park across the street and you are within walking distance to the tram and restaurants. The bar and restaurant a little dated but very comfortable and staff is great!

Excellent stay with friendly and helpful staff in this boutique luxury hotel. We were welcomed with chocolates and a gift bear, “George.” The lobby was very welcoming with multiple seating areas. There were complimentary apples in baskets on the different floors. There is a reading library and an outdoor garden, as well. Our room was very well appointed and comfortable. We could not hear our neighbors. The restaurant was excellent. The food was well prepared. We would gladly eat there again. The park with botanical gardens is right across the street.

We had planned to drop off our bags at the hotel and go for a walk before 11am. However, the weather wasn’t kind, so we waited in the lobby. We didn’t expect to check in so early, but the hotel kindly offered us a room. While we were waiting, they provided us with complimentary coffee and tea. It was such a kind gesture and excellent service. Thank you very much—we really enjoyed our stay at The George Hotel.

The George was a wonderful property located in Christchurch, with phenomenal customer service and spacious rooms. Free parking and within walkable distance of downtown locations and restaurants. Would highly recommend staying here purely due to the customer service!

ALL the staff were exceptional, first class. The food from the restaurant should be improved. Not impressed at all. The light controls are a bit tricky and there are no USB outlets in the room. Very comfortable bed.
