I absolutely loved my stay at Valide Sultan Konağı in Istanbul. It’s such a wonderful hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness stood out from the moment we arrived—everything was spotless and well-maintained. A huge thank you to Ramazan, who made our stay extra special. He went out of his way to arrange a thoughtful birthday gift for my son, which was such a kind and memorable gesture. Breakfast was another highlight, especially with Ramazan’s special eggs—cooked to perfection and a great way to start the day. The location couldn’t be better—just a 3-minute walk to Aya Sofya and situated right behind Topkapi Palace. It made exploring Istanbul so easy and convenient. With its amazing staff, perfect location, and welcoming atmosphere, I can’t recommend Valide Sultan Konağı enough. It’s the ideal place to stay in Istanbul!

Great Boutique hotel in Great Location
On arrival offered a room with a sea view but advised it was smaller than standard. It did offer a good view and although on the smallish side was good enough for our requirements. All the staff were really friendly and helpful offering good advice re where to eat and how to get around Istanbul. Breakfast was ok, not your typical “full enhlish” and was on the top floor with great views. Rambo who organised the breakfast, and made a large omelette on request, is a real character who really looked after the guests. Location was great as many of the places to visit are close by and only a short walk to a tram stop if going further afield. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is lovely and more traditional Turkish style and nice size rooms, they treat everyone like family. All the staff are warm and embracing, really helpful. Highly recommend this property for you stay, right next to Haigha Sofiya and Topkapi Palace. Arasta Bazaar is a short walk and Blue Mosque, everything is a short distance. I would definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Istanbul.

My favorite hotel in Turkey!!
This hotel is my absolute favorite! I stay here every time I visit Istanbul! It is located a block from the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Sultanahmet Square in the walled old city. This is a boutique hotel with excellent service. The ownership and staff remain constant and I’m always delighted when they remember me when I return! If you’re interested in visiting the Grand Bazaar, which is always great fun, it is just two or three stops from where you catch the city train at Sultanahmet Square. The hotel can provide guidance on how and where to purchase a very inexpensive ticket.

Location is perfect for accessing key sites and tram line, with Hagia Sophia only 5 minutes up the hill. There is a beautiful small mosque on the doorstep for easy access and beautifully lead prayers. The hotel was perfect for us, family run, relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for the three men on reception and chef Abdullah does a brilliant job with breakfast and stops to chat as he goes about his work. Ramazan is probably the crown jewel of the place! To sum it up, a charming team of staff that make this hotel what it is. Much preferred the feel of this place than the corporate, souless type

Great staff, awesome location, really good breakfast with awesome views. The one major negative: The rooms are tiny. And I mean very very very small. Not even space to keep a single bag flat. Not even enough to open closet door fully. And only 1 power point in the room. For me, the room being so so small was unexpected and disappointing. Bathroom is small too - shower door opens inside the shower, I don't know if a large person can even manage to get in. But 5* for the elderly gentleman helping at breakfast. What a good way to start the day.
