The Royal Savoy has the feel and ambience of a long-established quality hotel even though it is a relatively modern building. It is set on a cliff by the sea, with the entrance on the 8th floor and rooms down to the ground at sea level. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient without being patronising. All speak good English. Food is top quality, with a variety of restaurants inside and out serving everything from snacks to a full meal. The included breakfast was as good as, and generally better than, any we have experienced in any of the hotels we have stayed in at home or abroad. We had a room service dinner on our first night (been up since 4am to catch the flight) and it was like a full silver service. There are several good local restaurants (the best is X-Tonel) but sadly some have closed due to the covid problems. The grounds and outdoor pools are well maintained and clean with helpful staff always ready to set up the parasols and help you settle down for a relaxing time. There is a good indoor pool and a decent gym with various machines. Spa treatments are also available.
In summary a top quality hotel whose staff care about their guests. We have stayed there several times and will go again. We even prefer it to Reids!
