Hotel staff were very efficient and helpful, the site has ocean view with 2 pools and across street rooms on hill with 2 beautiful pools , one with fountains and bar and plenty of room for sun bathers as well as shade.

not a great stay at the Tamarindo Resort

I booked a hotel to be on the ocean. I paid 450.00 a night to be across the street in what I would call a motel. I asked to speak to the G.M. and he was always off or unavailable. I looked on line a few days Lateran the room they gave us was 143.00 a night . We will totally ripped off. The staff is mostly men and they are not friendly and seem burned out by Americans. ( which I can't blame them for that) The town is fun and once you get out of the hotel it is a wonderful place to visit.

Go somewhere else

Long story short: The rooms require maintenance and updates, the staff was not kind nor friendly, the location is not the best. After staying here and seeing the location + hotel, I would recommend the Westin instead. Long story: When we arrived the fan did not work, the air conditioning did not cool and the shower head had buildup so the water did not dispense from the showerhead. Maintenance called and they had to clean the filter for the AC, change the power bank of the fan head and clean the build up residue of the shower. Thats night one after a long 8 hour flight. I asked the tour desk about the possibility of going to the eco diamante park to see the sloths etc and the woman seemed upset that i was even talking to her and asking her questions about a place i know nothing about in a country i have never been. I would think that even if you cant accommodate you would try to sell something else or give another option but it was just nothing. So all the excursions i ended up booking myself online or on the beach at a great price!! The staff in its whole just didnt seem prepared for tourists. I asked one staff member at guest services if she knew of a dinner show or a place to eat but have live music or dancing etc. she said there is no such thing in Costa rica. We walked two doors down to Walter's restaurant and they had live music followed by fire dancers on the beach. Reception was no help either, same question and same answer. Im telling you, its not worth it.

Front desk welcoming, breakfast buffet has all you could want, food is ok at lunch. Right on the beach so perfect location in center of town. Rooms are comfortable (except for the pillow)

Nice hotel, great pools, loud Americans

Overall the stay was great, the hotel is nice, rooms were comfy and clean with good facilities (safe, nice bathroom, fridge, good beds). The pool and pool area was lovely to relax in (especially the adult only pool). Breakfast was really great. The hotel is well located, with direct access to the beach and walkable to everything else. Do be aware though this hotel is popular with Americans who seem to spend a lot of time shouting and screaming at each other across the pool areas and beach

Don’t stay here!

Extremely over priced, sub par room. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all. Room was very basic and small, uncomfortable bed, 2 cheap lawn chairs on the tiny deck. This hotel charged a highly inflated rate for a very basic room. Extremely disappointed!

The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable with just a sheet and a thin blanket. Poor quality of toiletries . We had to ask for towels and any restocking of coffee each day. Very very loud, with street traffic and booming music at night. Concierge was extremely unhelpful when trying to book a reservation at their own hotel, we ended up eating elsewhere. Overall- I expected more for the price.
