Second time here - this was a family winter break with one parent working remote. So easy vacation without a lot of planning was needed. Service and staff are amazing - kind, courteous, patient, helpful, responsive etc. can’t say enough. The location and weather are spectacular. Sunrises and sunsets on the beach, and watching rays jumping and whales swimming laps - great stuff. The shows and entertainment varies in quality but is always enthusiastic. Appreciate the staff effort. Liked the daily yoga on the beach, too. Breakfast with whales at Cortez and dinner at the Italian spot are fantastic. Liked the poolside juice bar, tacos and ceviche too. Not all the food is good, but there is plenty to enjoy. The spa was also really good - and a decent value. The upgraded hydrotherapy circuit and massage - so fun and relaxing!
The big downsides were the construction and the condition of the property in general - basically the property is getting really tired - we had an “artwork” fall out of its frame and off the wall, and the sofa was stained. It appears they are remodeling one wing at a time - so that means there is nonstop construction going on during the day. All day the pool and beach area is vibrating with the screech of saws, pounding of hammers and literal jackhammering for hours. It was crazy how loud it was and for me, it really dampened my time there. You don’t want to be at the beach and feel like you’re in the middle of a downtown construction project.
