Cute and quirky and oh so comfortable

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Merriweather Post Pavilion as my daughter and I were traveling in to see a concert. I loved that it was a unique property and the price was great for a one night stay. Villa Z with 2 queen beds had plenty of room for us both and was just so cute and quaint. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean. We had everything we needed and loved the snack bag we got at check it in. The property is older and shows its age in some quirky ways (uneven floors, staircases that twist and turn) but we loved exploring the different areas to see all the hidden gems of the Manor. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay. We thought there would be actual hot breakfast, but there was not. They were not operating their kitchen. The room was cute. The tub could fit my 6’2” 250lbs husband and I together. The bed was super comfy. They provide some toilet amenities and they had cute little romantic packages.

Pretty good except for the rudeness!

Everything was pretty good! They gave us a breakfast bag since they don't serve a hot breakfast. There was a Keurig in the room with an assortment of coffee and tea. The worst part was during the night, the fire alarm went off. I called the office to tell them and see what was going on. I was half-asleep since I was woken in the middle of the night. I must have asked the lady what to do, and she very rudely said, "I suggest you do like you did in high school and get your ass out!" So unprofessional. Then about 5 minutes after the fire alarm was set off, a lady barged into our room without knocking and said they were checking rooms. Again, very unprofessional.

The Inn. A great little hideaway

The Columbia Inn at Perlyana was a really great place to stay! I was in town because my father was in the hospital and I needed someplace really close by and this establishment was less than 10 minutes away from Howard county General hospital. It was very conveniently located for food and shopping if needed and the staff was very pleasant, the rooms were very clean, the beds were super comfortable and also clean. It was a great place to get the downtime I needed while dealing with family trauma you know with my father being in the hospital anyway it was a really good place and I will definitely be back again.

Thin walls and very noisy guests all through the night. Room was musky and windows above bed full of spider webs and debris on the Inside. I would never stay here again.

We stayed here several years ago, pre-covid. One of their amenities was a great, free breakfast. Since covid, they have stopped them. It was one of the reasons we went back. They do give a great goody bag but it didn’t make up for the missing breakfast. Their beautiful dining room was a great social area to meet other guests. They are starting to remodel the rooms, which some do need updating. Staff was wonderful.

Shower odor was overwhelming. I refused to shower. Lighting could be improved. Central A/C with no temperature control in room ensured that we were either hot or cold all the time. Difficult to find.

The property is completely run down. Prior to our arrival, they called to tell us it would be $40 extra to check in early. Yet when we arrived, we discovered we are the only guests here. In spite of that, they put us in the basement room. You shouldn’t have them on your website.

This property needs some serious refurbishment. The furniture was old and worn. The box springs had a plastic cover which is never a good sign. The carpet was badly stained. There were a lot of plastic railings around the terraces that were broken and falling apart. The terraces were communal and not private in the least. The breakfast was a Togo bag with high sugar muffins, juice, cereal bars. We left early.

It's an old house operating as an inn. Less privacy than a traditional hotel. It's walking distance from a wine bar. Carpet has multiple stains, but didn't feel unclean. Shower was small but still okay. Plenty of counter space in bathroom. Closet is very large but shelves may not hang a backpack well. There is a shared balcony off some of the rooms. The balcony door had a small air gap. Bed seemed fine. Room had a split vent and a space heater, but was a little difficult to get the temperature right with the vaulted ceilings.

The lighting in the room was terrible. No bedside table lamp for reading and other lighting not working. Says with breakfast but handing a bag of super high sugared drinks and packaged food is not breakfast. was very surprised.
