The property is located in a convenient area for shopping and site seeing. The Galata tower is within walking distance and it's also close to the cruise port. The staff is extremely welcoming and answered our questions.

The only good thing is its location. You can definitely find this type of hotel for half the price elsewhere. The room is extremely small. The bathroom and toilet are so tiny that the top is even open. The smell from the toilet spreads directly into the room. When the upstairs flushes, the sound comes straight into our room. Breakfast is available but there’s neither any pastry nor simit. Definitely a hotel that does not deserve its price.

I have travelled extensively for many years and have stayed in countless hotels. I chose this hotel from an extensive list of Istanbul hotels. The reviews were all very positive and mine agreed with theirs, the cost extremely affordable,; compared to the prices in Canada and USA , an amazingly inexpensive find....a full and delicious breakfast buffet , to satisfy the most discerning person. is included with your room reservation.

Good for the price

We stayed six nights for a holiday trip. It was perfectly located close to Galata tower and connection to all other parts. The room was nice but not perfect. The beds were ok but too worn. Bath was nice and clean but leaking water to the floor under the beds. Breakfast was standard. Good for the price

I was arrived at 4 PM, I took room number 12 and I immediately informed the guy that the air conditioning is not working, it took them more than 6 hours until 11:30 PM to change to room number 26 which I was extremely tired, the guy in the reception (night shift is rude) the room is very very small like 8 meter maximum. No bathroom door or ventilation, you can smell the Shi.. in the room. Very terrible experience and doesn’t worth value of money. - windows are not properly closed - noisy at night - room smelling is bad - unprofessional treatment by reception guy at night - he asked me to sleep by keeping windows open because the AC is not working with huge sounds and mouskitos The breakfast is okay but is not no special at all. I don’t recommend it with 50+ USD - maximum worth a 25 USD per night

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel Galatahan. The room was clean, very comfortable, perfect location of the hotel and the staff was amazing. They (receptionists & waiters) went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Istanbul! 10 points of 10 points. Thank you. Milan

It’s a nice hotel conveniently located with stunning views of the Bosphorus. At a very reasonable price, very well maintained and the staff are helpful and polite. I would personally make a few changes to their breakfast which can be a bit basic, they give you boiled eggs every day but they shouldn’t mix this up by doing scrambled eggs on one day omelettes on another day and do some grilled hellim as well, these are all very cost-effective ways of adding More choice to basic breakfast.

Galatahan hotel review

Stayed in the hotel for one week and I wish I choose a different one. It’s not the worst but it’s not the greatest either. It’s in a good location for tourism but it’s on a noisy street with a lot of construction. The room was not the best, the walls were peeling, the ac smelled bad for a couple of days, sink was loose, door for bathroom made a loud popping noise ever time you open a close. Staff for cleaning and kitchen were amazing. The staff at the front desk are not attentive, mind you I was there for 6 days 5 nights and did not help with luggage at all. Breakfast was great!!! Would never come back👎

This hotel is exactly what we needed for a week while we explored the city with my family abs held a massive family wedding dinner. The facility was conveniently located, clean and updated elements. The rooms could use an iron and ironing board. Additionally, the door to the shower, which also served as the door to the bathroom (which is totally cool, actually) made a terrible cracking sound due to a misalignment. These are small things though. I’d definitely stay here again. The breakfast is top notch every day! We accidentally left the safe open and the cleaning staff took a picture and told us right away, and left everything as is, which was totally appreciated, since it was absolutely our mistake. This was very conscientious of the hotel. Definitely a good place to stay!

The worst experience I had at GALATAHAN hotel. First they refused to change dates as my flight was delayed for 1 day. Despite Expedia reminding through email. They didn’t compensate. The room toilet was open and no privacy. All night we were disturbed noise coming from street as windows were not closing properly. At 12 checkout time reception started calling to leave the room in a harsh way. I will never recommend this place to anyone to stay

NOT RECOMMENDED! 1- The room was not cleaned properly, there was hair in the shower and a dirty plastic glove on the floor. 2- The rooms are very small. The bathroom area was so small that it was actually hard to use! 3- The kettle in our room was also broken! 4- The receptionist told us that they do dry cleaning so my partner gave them a suit that he was supposed to wear to a wedding. They ruined the suit! They basically put it in a laundry machine!! They also took no responsibility for it and wouldn’t even give us a refund. 5- The breakfast is meh! And it gets extremely loud at night during the weekend!

No the best Customer Service Experience.

Great Location and great breakfast. However, as soon as we put our feet into the building, we started to experience not the best customer service. The service was not as expected. I will start to mention that the from desk person at check in is not a good listener, he is rude. I decided ignored his as I don't really want to spend time arguing with an unhappy person, especially after a long fly. I let my husband to deal with him. We booked a Family suite, the room is very well designed but was not totally clean, the cover bed on the master room was not clean. Seems like they didn't change it from the last guess. and we decide not to use it. Also, during our 5 days 4-night stay, they didn't change the beds sheets. They only change the towels. I did the request to change the bed sheets to one of the housekeeping and unfortunately seems like they didn't understand due to language barrier. The lights in the main room and main bathroom never work, we asked multiples times to see if someone can come and fix it and it never happens, the excuse was the Eid Holiday and that people from maintenance was in vacation, which it was acceptable for the Eid day but not for the rest of our days. We have to use our kiddos room to shower and to do everything that needs light (make up, fix our hair, etc). I also provide the feedback to the from desk person and seems like he didn't care.

I want to use all my words as efficient as I can to keep this review short for those who need. One star goes to horrible quality (wasted, broken, must refreshed) of the bed! I knew room was tight and bathroom even tighter but multiple futures of the bathroom was out of use, fully custom made (try to made) tiny bathroom was a pain but even bigger pain was the response from the receptionists. They were so unpleasant to intake the problem and absolute zero solution to change the bed. I didn’t even mention all other problems in the room that needs help but bed! I had to stay for three nights but it hurts even more to see people behind that small reception letting you know administration of the establishment do not care. I told them about the problems in the room three times and added that be ready for a very sad but true review. I do not recommend Galatahan.
