Clean room and staff.
sylvester, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Room was clean and modern, Check in and out staff were very friendly and helpful. There are all the stores, restaurants and bars within a very short walk. I will definitely stay at this location again.
David, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

All rooms are bad. Property reeks. Check-in gal said property is going to get remodeled, so all rooms are neglected. Not worth going even though centrally located.
Kelly, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

It was right down town and convenient to walk to a lot of places. A beautiful park across the street. Unfortunately it was full of homeless people. The hotel needs to be updated and refreshed. Bed was comfortable. Staff were nice and friendly.
George, 2-night trip

Overall the stay was good. The temperature was decent and we were able to sleep. The breakfast was good for a hotel downtown. This is a pretty good hotel just needs a little TLC. It could be what it once was. I would stay here again.

Maybe next time

Hotel called to cancel my reservation two hours before check in. Due to lack of air conditioning in the entire hotel. I feel the staff handled the situation well. Allowed me to change reservations to another Olympia with no fees or charges .
Brenda, 2-night trip

Great friendly clean place

We parked in the parking garage you have to ring the bell to be let in, the employees didn't hear it because they both were outside taking a break. When asked if the door was locked at a certain time, they lied and said yes. I confirmed with another worker when I checked out. We had to walk around thru the ally in the dark its not the most safest place in olympia for 2 women to be walking, The Hotel doesn't have air conditioning. the bed was comfortable, and they have a later check out then most.

Property recently taken over by Red Lion. I'm sure it will be renovated. A/c was not working, everything looks worn and tired, but the bed was amazingly comfortable!

We always stay at the historic Governor Hotel when we visit Olympia. The location is excellent, views of the Capital Lakes beautiful, continental breakfast offers good choices, staff are always friendly and helpful.

We loved the view of the capitol and the harbor from the top floor room. The AC was out and the room was near 100 degrees both days in spite of everything we could do, so we did not sleep until well past midnight each night when it cooled down enough to be comfortable.
Karen, 2-night trip

Good location is only real plus. Hotel is in extreme neglect, to the point it was actually comical. A/C broken, bathtub cracked and peeling, faucet dripping, cobwebs in the light fixtures, bedspread torn, swimming pool abandoned…for example.

The stay

My stay was ok only because of my company as far as service the staff was excellent except my room had drugs on the safe
Tara, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

30$/night room. Clean, Great location. Perfect for a quick place to rest.
Breez, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The room was fine and clean the hotel was convenient was fine except the morning customers service lady carol she was kinda of rude and unprofessional
Razunda, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Every checkbox for a bad hotel: AC down (all rooms) ice machine broken, first room had what looked like mold all over the bathtub, dirty toilet, paint is deteriorating everywhere, smelled horribly of cigarettes. Front office was very kind to change rooms without any hassle. Second room was much better with fiberglass peeling (along with the paint) in the bathroom, toilet was missing paint but was clean. Holes in the bedroom wall, broken drawer on the very run down dresser. Only way my mom would stay was to sleep with her mace out. To be fair, this was by far the best looking hotel (?) in the downtown area. Would not recommend staying anywhere in this area, not family or child friendly or safe.

They’re trying but property is very worn out

The staff was helpful and nice. The property is incredibly worn out. Very little was actually broken but things were so worn they might break down at any time. The AC was broken on a very hot day. The bathtub was so worn I couldn’t tell if it was dirty or not.
Barbara, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The staff was friendly and attentive. The property is outdated and very old. Bathtub is old. No hot water
Ly, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

No air conditioning. Tub cracked and peeling. Dirty carpet. Furniture falling apart. Outdated all around. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Brian, 7-night trip

Not a well kept hotel. Peeling paint, smelled bad. The bed and bedding were comfy though.
This was the bathtub in my room!
Amanda, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

I've been pleased with all of the staff that I've encountered. Convenience for the things I want, or have to do is good as well.
Richard, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Worse for the wear unfortunately. Bed was clean and comfortable and it was quiet though. Good enough for one night
Janet, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice staff, not so nice temperature!

The air conditioning system dis not work in the entire building. It was so hot in the rooms and the hallway. We had a sliding glass door that said we could only open 3 inches but it was so unbearable we opened it further. The staff was so nice and they were so hot and still had a smile. The ice machines did not work but the front staff had ice in a cooler for guests. The was a carnival going on below us so we heard music and laughter that was ok with us! The room we were in had a beautiful view too.
