I didn’t actually stay at this hotel because I live in the UK and was looking for one in Durham, UK. I didn’t even know there is a Durham in the US! I think Hotels.com should make it clearer or at least put the price in dollars not pounds to avoid confusion! I emailed the hotel as soon as I realised and asked if they could possibly give me a refund even though I had chosen the non-refundable option but heard nothing back. I don’t blame the hotel -it’s my own fault not theirs! I’ve given 3 stars for everything as that seems fair-I have no idea nor will I ever have how good this hotel is!

Floors in hallways were uneven, homeless people are constantly in the parking lot , trash in the landscaping, elevator was sketchy, and constant pest problems in 306.

The people that run the front desk were absolutely rude and unhelpful. I had turned my towels into housekeeping during housekeeping hours but they failed to bring me any clean ones back. So that following evening I called down to the front desk and asked if I could please get some towels and I was told that it was marked on his paperwork that we had already received towels for that day and we were not eligible to get any clean towels. I had to go down the street and purchase some towels to take my shower that evening. I also needed quarters to complete my laundry cycle. I had enough quarters to start the wash but did not have enough for the dryer and I was told that he could not give me the quarters that he had in the register because he needed them for other customers. That I would have to walk to a store or figure something else out to complete my laundry. The first morning I had spilled just a little bit of coffee on the floor next to my bed, so I used one of the towels that I have bought the night before to clean up my mess and when I looked at the towel after I was done it was near black! Absolutely disgustingly dirty. There's no way that these floors were cleaned before I entered this room.

This place was a dump. The bathtub needed to be replaced 20 years ago. We actually left and didn't sleep there is was so disgusting. I wouldn't stay in one of these rooms if they paid me to.

Most definitely not a place for kids.. Me and my kids went there while i was visiting my nephew at Duke childrens hospital.. Alot of drug activity outside, blood was splattered on bathroom wall.. Will not be back!

Floors feel spongy while walking down the hall. Water constantly dripping from shower head. Water hooked up backwards in the sink. Hot water on the right cold water on the left. Large temperature fluctuations in water temperature while using the shower. Signs posted Smoke-Free facility however The aroma of marijuana being smoked permeated throughout the third floor. Some type of Dead bug on the floor.(I may have stepped on it)

Hotel is run down. Needs much physical improvement. Sketchy area. Police were there checking on something that happened on second floor. I thought being near Medical Center, this would be a decent place to stay. I do not recommend.

overall you get what you paid for. I had to wait 30 minutes to check in, I did call and ask if I could check in early and there would be a fee (which was fine) but had to wait 30 minutes to actually check in, and pay the fee. We stayed on the third floor and I'm not sure if it was because it was enclosed but the actual smell of the hall way was just disgusting, wet moldy smell. The bathtub was disgusting. Just overall for the price, you get what you get. Definitely won't stay again and will pay more next time. Lesson learned.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were fairly clean, or so we thought until we saw a cockroach climbing up the wall. There was a constant order of weed in the hallways and parking lot, with lots of people seeming to just hang around. It made me uncomfortable.
