The stay was great, but they did reveal the $40 parking/ night!

So surprised when they upgraded my room to a suite. Lovely. Spent quite a bit of time working in the room. It was spacious and very comfortable. Loved the bed. I will definitely stay again.

Nice, clean, spacious room. Lots of restaurants within 1/2 mile. Downside: Parking costs $40/night at this suburban location.

The staff. As a 'mainlander', I am accustomed to mediocrity in service & a level of complacency. I found Oahu very exotic & interesting.

The staff was excellent (Matt was very professional and helpful) Breakfast was very good!
However the AIR CONDITIONER in our room was not working. They had this big portable Air Conditioning unit that they had a LARGE HOLE IN THE WALL THAT YOU COULD SEE AND HEAR THE TRAFFIC AND PEOPLE IN THE PARKING LOT OUTSIDE that was hard to program and you could not direct the Air Flow where you wanted and bounced off the wall next to the bed and made it very uncomfortable so I just turned it off. The Air Conditioning unit was close to the corner of the bed blocking access around the bed opposite of the bathroom and had to climb on and off the bed to get around to the living area and bathroom. The shower was not draining very well and would start to overflow into the bathroom so you had to turn off the water and wait until it slowly drained. Have been there with family members before and it was an amazing experience being part of the MARRIOTT Chain of Hotels.

You really need a car to get around the area - and while that is on me, I found staff very unhelpful for the most part in helping arrange transportation or tours. They generally had an "oh well" attitude - including trying to extend our stay on the first day there. On the final day there was helpful person at front desk who suggested the "day use.com" website for us to use by the Honolulu airport. There is just not much to do in Kapolei without a car - again on me - but I found the staff to be average with suggestions or helping. I did not sense anyone wanted to go above basics.
