I’ve stayed happily in this hotel before, but on this occasion, the curtains in my room didn’t work, the bedside lamp wouldn’t turn on, the rainforest shower didn’t work (and the hand-held shower blasted out cold water when turned to hot).
The pool was closed, the free tea and coffee are no longer free and not offered as advertised, and the staff (with two wonderful exceptions) are really unfriendly and sullen.
This week found me in four hotels around Los Angeles; none was great, but during the three nights I stayed at the usually reliable Westin, it set new records for unhelpful service and broken amenities.
