3 star hotel at a fair price for the area
Overall for the price it was worth the value. Free parking and the breakfast option were 2 of the top things that drew me to The Wave. The underground private parking was great. The breakfast was lacking. We stayed 3 nights total at 2 different times (went to San Diego for a few days in between) both rooms were clean and minimally stocked. There were only 2 bath towels in each room. We were missing a hand towel in the first room and a bath mat the second room. The checkin process was smooth both times and the staff was accommodating. The location was good and very close to quite a few restaurants and the ocean was a short drive. I booked online at hotels.com and prior to my checkin I tried calling the hotel for 3 days… no answer…. Ever. Finally a few hours before my late flight I tried again and they finally answered! Hallelujah! I was told that since I didn’t prepay for my room that they would have cancelled my reservation at 7pm that night. Good thing someone finally answered the phone as our flight didn’t get in until 11pm. They do staff the office 24 hours a day though but the site said no check ins after midnight. So, not sure but in the end I was glad it all worked out!

Great room, breakfast was ok
We had a reasonably priced room that had a second bedroom, so my kids could all get to sleep quickly. This was just an overnight stay for us, but the breakfast was a bit lacking. Ran out of fruit, bread, waffle machine is there, but not working, Ran out of a juice...It felt like we got there a day before grocery day.

Great stay at The Wave !
Good stay. Clean, quiet and comfortable. I always stay in Manhattan beach area as it’s close to the airport and it’s relatively quiet with many shops close by. The Wave Hotel is in an ideal spot for easy free parking, quiet neighborhood and close to freeways

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL!!! EGG WATER!
This is a horrible hotel. The water smells like egg water… clearly needs to be treated! The room is humid and old. The beds have metal bottoms so they sound like jail beds when you tap them at all with your foot. The mattresses are hard. No tissue for your nose, two towels and no wash cloths or hand towels in the room that they knew had five people on the reservation. They knew our reservation was for five clearly could see that and they only gave us a room that sleeps 4 and I know I had chosen the room that hotels.com showed had two queens and a sofa bed, so I am angry with hotels.com and the hotel. The egg water in the shower and the sink to wash hands and brush teeth is disgusting. And when we asked for more towels or toilet paper the staff was upset and said they had to wash more towels and would give only one more toilet paper and they never had extra to hand us. There is no do not disturb sign to put on your door when you are sleeping. The bathroom is old and has rust in it. The one microwave they have is outside on a table. For being in Manhattan Beach, CA this is NOT the hotel you want for you and your family! On top of hotels.com and this hotel NOT ACCOMMODATING the number of of people in our family needing a place to sleep as clearly stated in our reservation, The egg (sulfur water and hard(jail like beds) made it the worst experience we have ever had with a hotel!

The overhead light over my bed was not working. I reported it, but it was not replaced during our stay. The Raisin Bran cereal container in the breakfast room was not working properly, making it impossible to use. Trash was coming out of the trash container in the breakfast room during the breakfast hours. Someone should have been monitoring the breakfast room and emptying the trash. There were no napkins in the breakfast room. Instead, there was a box of kleenex.
