When I got to the room, the air conditioning was set to 16 degrees - and it was 16 degrees in the room. After room-service/cleaning the staff insist on leaving the room at 16 degrees each time. This is too cold for anybody surely - it wasn't even hot when I visited, with max temp around 21 degrees.
The breakfast was very basic, though expensive and the room was not clean - see attached photographs of dried toilet poop assumed to be accumulated from many previous guests. How can you rate yourself as a 5-star hotel when standards and common sense are this low?
The private beach is across the street, and theres a convenient underpass to get to it. Theres lots of facilities and things to do, though the beach area is quite small. The jacuzzi was broken on the day I wanted to use it. Location is okay - and like most places in abu-dhabi you'll need a car to get anywhere. There is a nice short walk to a posh supermarket, and a slightly longer walk to a regular supermarket.
The reception staff are nice and helpful though, pity about the rest of it.
