We were not impressed when we arrived to the hotel. There was a VERY strong odor in the rooms that triggered my allergies bad. The air conditioner units did not work well at all, which made it difficult for a good night sleep. Half of the light bulbs were burnt out and we had to get one from the front desk to replace in the bathroom..The bathroom counter had toothpaste all dried on by the sink and all over the facet. If you stay here, bring your own pillows because these pillows were SO flat and not comfy at all. The balcony was covered in green moss and spiderwebs. The railing was very loose and sketchy, wasn't very safe. It was very surprising to see the doors going outside never locked and people could come and go. Just did not feel safe with that security measure. There was courtesy from people who smoked right outside the door, because that smoke came right up our room, so it was hard to enjoy being outside on the balcony or having our door open. We had a great trip with family but will find other arrangements for next years Truck Show.

Need maintenance

Limited parking. Breakfast served is mere coffee and granola bars. Not worth the $300 rate. Amenities like jacuzzis are out of order.

Ants in the bathroom, room smelled musty, moldy & like old damp carpet. From what it looked like to me one of the pillow cases had black mold on it.

Outdated

Staff tried but room and everything in the room stayed wet. Even my shoes were wet. Carpet was old and wet. Balcony had bird droppings on the seat, overgrown bush kept us from seeing anything on our patio which was covered by algae. Couldn't stay out there because smell of marijuana was overpowering. All staff was kind , beds were clean and comfortable. Room had bulbs burned out and hair dryer did not work.

The lakeview rooms are worth the extra. Nice view of Lake Huron and the Arnald ferry boats. Sandy beach clean water. Arnald ferry to Mackinaw island is out the back door. Hotel is showing her age but rooms were clean and staff were nice. Good value for the money

Will definitely stay again.

We walked into town for coffee, shopping, eating and activities. Our room opened up onto the beach with a small porch with chairs to enjoy the beach view. We will totally stay here again

Staying elsewhere next time

The staff was friendly and professional. The hotel itself was not good. Breakfast coupons send you restaurants where you will over pay using the coupon for average food. Pool was not heated and over chlorinated, irritated eyes and skin. Hot tub not hot just a tiny swirling cold pool. The room had musty smell and mold in bathroom over the shower/tub area. The queen mattress in room had hardware sticking out causing both my children to scrape their shin area, causing physical pain.

Friendly Staff and Convenience

Our stay at Ramada was wonderful, howecer there could be improvements. The 2 queen size beds was comfortable enough for four average size adults. The staff was friendly and accomodating in regards to replacing clean towels and such. We booked a room with the lakeview so the view was indeed nice. One big plus was it was right next to the ferry to Mackinac Island so that was convenient. Improvements: There was no ventilator in the bathroom. I can't imagine what all the humidity over the years have done to the place and what's in the air. If you have sensitivity issues, this is something to consider. Carpet: I understand carpet is considered comfortable and it could be. However, carpet flooring, especially on the balcony and entryway is not hygienic. It is not ever 'clean' even if you clean it. Wood/Ceramic/Porcelain tiles are better suited for a public space. Perhaps Wyndham could take this into consideration. One of the questions on the review asked about ecofriendliness. Not much could be said about this as the soaps and other toiletries a one time use and in small plastic containers before the hotel disposes them of it. This for instance, is not ecofriendly.
