Historical shouldn’t mean that you’re paying top dollar in a chain hotel to be sleeping on the same bed frames from literally 30 years ago, with tears in the headboard and material frame around the box spring. Old rugs, old furniture (not antique, just old), stains on sheets and pillows, not enough toiletries for a two day stay, needs serious updating. The pool was great! Unfortunately, not heated but good! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere that the entire hotel needed to be evacuated at 6am with a warning alarm blaring. As they let us back into the hotel, nobody was given an explanation as to why we had to run down the fire escape with our belongings in the early morning like there was a fire. The location is great, just needs updating and maybe a better way to solve suspected emergencies rather than inconveniencing guests with war horns, panicking thinking there’s an emergency. No explanation, no apology, no compensation given, in the last few hours of guests stay. Also, it heavily smelled like mold that I couldn’t stop tasting for two days after I got home.
