THEY HAD NO ROOM FOR ME AND STILL NO REFUND DESPITE HAVING A PAID RESERVATION
I had a confirmed, pre-paid, non-refundable reservation. When I arrived the hotel around 10 PM (check-in was stated as being until 3 AM) after driving many hours to get there, I was informed the cleaners didn't finish cleaning all the rooms and they had more reservations than rooms so they canceled some reservations, including mine. Not only they didn't make sure their cleaners finish cleaning all the rooms so they can honor confirmed reservations, but also they didn't notify me until I arrived, and didn't book me a room elsewhere when such rooms were possibly available and instead told me only late at night, when other accommodations were full or their check-in closed (or both). When I said I will end up staying in my car all night so I was willing to take a non-clean room, they refused, and even threatened to call the police despite me staying polite and not posing any threat the entire time. On Hotels app there was nothing in the large area around, and on Booking app there was only a tent with shared bathroom for about $500, having to drive about 40 miles to get there.
They claimed they made a refund immediately, but now about 4 weeks later, I still didn’t get a refund. I wrote to the general e-mail of motel 6 several times but except for automatic messages I got no response. Now I have to waste my time to get a refund for the room they refused to give me.
