Good value
Always stay at the Tantalus when there’s a group of 3 to 6 of us snowboarding up at Whistler. Good value hot tub is normally working well and a walk to the village is short though there is a shuttle. Should you require it?

Great Value
We loved the layout of the loft suite. There were plenty of towels and kitchen supplies in order to cook, etc. The pool for sure could be warmer. It wasn’t really fun. There should also be like 30 minute time blocks for the hot tubs as people camped out for hours in there.

2/10 Poor

Hidden fees
Overall the room was okay, very dated. We were not happy when checking out as there was a surprise parking fee that we were not told about when checking in. Extremely limited parking forced us to park on the road way in a fire lane up against bushes that scratched my vehicle and made it very difficult to unload anything from the vehicle. When asked if they would waive the fee as we where told to park in a no parking zone where we couldn’t get in and out of the car we were told they cannot and only a manager can. So we asked to speak to a manager but there were none working that day and would not give us their phone number or email. I will never stay here again and recommend to everyone else not too as their customer service was non-existent.

Disappointing Stay
Our stay at Tantulas was only OK, due to a number of issues. First, there was no daily cleaning service and we had to ask the front desk for replacement towels. Also, the dining room table was sticky as if it hadnt been cleaned properly. Second, the property is quite old and is starting to show its age (old carpets, old TV with no ability to connect to streaming services, even our own, etc.). Finally, my wife had a bug drop onto her head while reading in bed, which wasn't a lot of fun. It turned out to be a harmless type but was still unnerving. It must have come in via an open window. A final minor annoyance was the lack of EV charging on the site, other than a regular 120V outlet. Fortunately, I brought my Level 1 charger cable with me so could grab a slow charge during our stay. Other than that, the unit was fine but we won't stay there again when there are better options in other properties at Whistler.

nice place to stay for the getaway
October we head to whistler for an overnight, 2nd year in a row we've stayed here, for a 10 min walk to the village its a better rate. The parking garage was out of servide, knew that before we booked, but parked at the the convention center overnight for $6.75... didn't have time to try the hot tube or pool which were fully heated - no complaints.

Hallways had a musty smell and beds weren’t very comfortable. Parking was limited due to construction so had to shuttle to and from parking that was an 8 minute drive. Not terrible, but not overly convenient. Nice surrounding area though away from the bustle of the village. With some updating to the facilities would rate it higher

Older rooms, but massive, probably because they are an older property. Close to the village but not exactly in the village so it’s quiet. Only problem was the parking lot. It was under construction at the time, so we had to shuttle to our car. Which was fine, because the shuttle driver was always there and we never had to wait too long.

The room was great for 4 adults travelling together. We had a fire one night using the fire logs they sell at the reception. The car parking renovations were a little inconvenient with having to use a shuttle but over all we enjoyed our 2 night stay.
