We recently stayed at Finest Punta Cana and had a generally enjoyable stay, but several areas could use improvement.
The resort is very kid-friendly, which we appreciated. The water park and pool areas were a hit with our child, and plenty of daybeds were available throughout the resort. The beach is beautiful with soft, fine sand, and the staff setting up the beach daybeds were very attentive and kind.
That said, service was inconsistent. While there are bars near the pool, there was no staff offering drink or food service directly to the daybeds or seating areas, which was inconvenient—especially with young kids. The main pool, including the Club-exclusive pool, was often not very clean.
Dining options were mostly average or disappointing. We only truly enjoyed the Mexican restaurant and the Club restaurant (Gusto). The Italian restaurant was forgettable, and the pizza tasted like it was microwaved. The Korean BBQ at Melting Pot was a major miss. The gym was excellent, with juices and snacks available, and the spa was a highlight.
The Finest Club benefits were quite limited. Apart from priority check-in, welcome drinks, and access to Gusto, we didn’t experience much added value. The baby lounge is a great concept, but it needs better and more engaging toys.
Other minor issues included an overly strong room fragrance and several mosquitoes around common areas, suggesting the need for more regular pest control.
