"The hotel was overall pleasant. The staff was really nice and helpful. The pool was really not swimmable since the water was absolutely freezing (that tells much coming from someone from Finland). The breakfast was quite limited and the kitchen seemed to be understaffed, the coffee machine was horrendous since you never knew what it would spit out, if anything. The instant coffee in the rooms was poor quality, even after using two servings, the "coffee" tasted more like aromatized water....

"The Hotel quinta da Serra is Surround es by a Hufe parc and they grow their own vegetable and strawberries. The delicious food is organic and they also have vegan options. The huge heated pool and the Whirlpool was definetely a Highlight for us and the Kids. "

"This is a basic hotel. The showers need a thorough deep clean. The roof top pool is beautiful but there are no pool towels. The restaurant was closed which was not posted on their website when we booked. The positive was that it was near the airport for an early flight. "

Most of the food , we didn’t like. The break first is extremely industrial. People are nice, don’t get me wrong but this hotel needs a complete new approach and needs to be refreshed and renovated . "The resort is beautiful, the food was delicious. The best breakfast we have had on the island. Lovely ambiance with the dramatic cliff views and vineyards. A typical colmo is on premises, which is a nice touch. The shower is a good size, great water pressure. The AC works well. The beds are better than in other hotels we’ve stayed at on Madeira. "

"Stunning gardens, pool and kitchen garden. Absolutely beautiful surroundings. The hotel rooms are set in gorgeous positions but ours (1116) was very dated. Felt a bit like a very large room in an institution! Bathroom sliding door needed repair and the shower was a trickle. Dirty seal on shower too. Felt it could be an amazing hotel given its layout and gardens but not sure what it would be like when busy. There were very few guests when we were there but the many, many loungers round the pool...
