The room is very clean. We have trouble using the ventilation but the staff immediately solve the problem. the hotel is a little far away from the city center, so we buy the two- day pass.

Really funky hotel.. the fact that they had a kitchen for clients to use and a handy laundry made it perfect for travelers that get tired of eating out...

brand new hotel, interesting concept, great location

Meininger is a brand new hotel located in a historic building. That gives a flavor of a real St.Petersburg life in the city center. Griboyedov canal is right across the street, and all historic places of the city are within pleasant walking distance. We trotted from the hotel to St. Nikolay's, then to St. Isaac, then to Peter the Great monument, and so on. Location is perfect. Room is designed in a very efficient way: lots of storage and floor space, a couch, TV on the wall, spacious bathroom with shower stall. 'Kitchen' that combines cooking facilities and a laundry room with ironing board, washers and dryers, is on the ground floor. WiFi is free, and reliable. I'd say hotel is designed to provide everything a traveler needs, while doing it in a cost effective way. We were on the top (3rd) floor, so our room had a skylight window. Buffet breakfast is provided at extra cost, and it is worth it. There is a choice of sliced hams, sausage and cheese, porridge, hard-boiled eggs, bananas, fresh yogurt, juices, tea and coffee. Breakfast room has enough space for all the guests. Hotel offers a luggage room, free of charge. I was a bit surprised that no receipt was issued for my suitcase, but I got it back without an issue. The only improvement I can suggest is thicker bed pillows. Those offered are wafer-thin, and provide no head support, so in the morning my shoulders hurt a lot.

Nice common living/washing room and kitchen. Watercoolers in hall.

The only thing no so nice is related to the lack of experience of most of reception employees. They are a little bit confused. For example, onde of them lost for an instant the paper given to me at the immigration service in Russia. But, they had not caused big problems.

Modern and clean hotel. Everything was new. Breakfast could be better and more complete.
