I booked this place to celebrate a birthday vacation on the recommendation of Hotels.com and the high quality photos available. The mission aligned with our values and it seemed like a nice place, but we couldn’t have been more disappointed.
We arrived in the late evening after the front desk was closed (when they only have armed security for late check in). As it turns out, this is NOT A HOTEL, it is clearly an old motel with a new coat of paint. We get checked in and to our room but the key card doesn’t work. The guard helps us and discovers the door had been unlocked the whole time and has to flashlight patrol the room for us. Red flag.
Once we’re settled, we discover the following issues:
- Terrible water pressure that prevented us from comfortably showering
- Uncomfortable and stiff mattress and a faulty A/C unit that did not work well
- Serious concerns of security with the door issues and being up against a busy, loud highway
- No phone in the room and just the cell phone number of the one security guard on patrol available overnight
After a horrible night’s sleep we chose to check out with a day left on our reservation for no refund. Perhaps most shocking of all, at check out, the front desk person did not ask how our stay was or if we had any issues — it’s as if they knew this was a scam. They also charge a $12 daily RESORT FEE for the gym and pool which we didn’t use, mostly because the overall cleanliness of the rooms told us all we needed to know.
