For the price I really can’t complain. The room was clean and warm but decor a little dated. The food in the pub was good. All in all a good find and I would stay again.

Genuinely welcoming of dogs. Restaurant slept into dog friendly and no dogs with a roaring fire that was most welcome as it was cold and windy outside. Good wine and food and friendly staff and other patrons very welcoming as well.

Basic accommodation but more than good enough for a short stopover.

Good deal, nice food and drink. Lovely ,well behaved dogs there. Open real fire going constantly. Room needed heating up but electric heater worked fine. Owner helped deice car so above and beyond.

Room was good, homemade pie and mash was excellent.

I spend 50% of the year in hotels around the country and usually stay in the high street kind of places, your Premier Inns or Village Hotels etc but I fancied a change and wasn’t disappointed. The room was clean and tidy with the added bonus or a couple of biscuits each day. The bar/restaurant was warm, comforting and welcoming. Food was excellently priced, cooked to order and very nice. The bar itself had a lovely ambience and good selection of beers, spirits and snacks. I have recommended The Oak to several friends who live in the area to try out their menu..

Good place to stay .Decor in our room was quirky in a nice sort of way .Staff friendly .Bed comfy.Food in the pub restaurant good .This place doesn't do small portions.Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Just an overnight stay to visit friends nearby. The weather was wet and cold, and we couldn’t get the heating to stay on for longer than 5 minutes at a time, so the room wasn’t very warm. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean . Typical hotel breakfasts, both continental and cooked, nothing to complain about. We would come again, and hope for better weather.

Should be 5 star for room will not disappointed
