Peaceful Retreat, Minutes to Downtown

We loved this location this past week as we brought our family in for a large community event. We have a bunch of special diet needs and the house was well stocked with staples and supplies to make it "home" for a few days. We were extremely pleased with the location and the ease of getting in and out of Portland. All the new updates to this beautiful old home only added to it's beauty.

My family stayed at this property over the Thanksgiving holiday. It had everything we needed and more! We had a wonderful time despite the pandemic. It’s a perfect mix of charm, location and practicality. The huge backyard is a true oasis away from the city yet it’s just a few minutes away from Portland. Would highly recommend 10/10! We will be back!

The setting of this home was perfect. Since we weren’t able to visit crowded, public sites our family soaked up some serenity at this lovely Garden Home retreat. The fenced yard was a perfect place to run for our pup. Really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen so we didn’t need to make extra trips to the market.

Beautiful, comfortable, homey space to stay while visiting with family in Portland. Very responsive owner: when our scheduled stay overlapped the week Portland was suffocating under record-breaking hazardous air quality, she was flexible and worked to accommodate us where she could. Her consideration only added to what turned out to be a wonderful stay: The smoke cleared and we were able to enjoy our socially-distanced porch visits with family under beautiful, late summer skies.

We were 1st amazed at how wonderfully clean and sanitize the property was then the beautiful backyard to hang out in the beautiful neighborhood. It was an ideal place to get away from all that's going on with the outside world. Great host who made sure that we had everything we needed.

What a nice, quiet neighborhood! We loved that we could hear a rooster crowing on our morning walks through the neighborhood. The house was perfect for our family group. We loved the newly remodeled kitchen where we cooked several family meals. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed! The beds were comfortable with soft sheets and warm quilts. The whole house was comfortable and had plenty of space for gathering in the living room, dining room and what a huge back yard! Thanks for sharing your farm house with us where we created new family memories.

4 adults stayed in this home for Thanksgiving holiday for 4 nights. We had our extended family over on Thanksgiving day for dinner. Everyone loved the house and the beautiful yard. This is a farmhouse from the 1900's. Carrie left enough of the original style to be charming, but remodeled enough to make the house comfortable and user friendly. The kitchen was great. We cooked for 15 people and did not have any problems having enough cookware and dishes for everyone. Plus there are lots of herbs and cooking ingredients. We did not make a dishwasher a prerequisite but were happy we had a nice one to wash all those dishes. We were very comfortable. I especially liked the master bedroom as it has a very comfortable bed, updated bathroom and a beautiful view to the backyard. The house was so quiet we slept like babies. I did not hear cars, neighbors or anything. Carrie was wonderful and available for any questions. She gave us flexibility in check in and check out because the weather was so unpredictable driving to and from Spokane this time of year. I would definitely come back here and am thinking of coming when I can see Carrie's beautiful back yard in bloom.

This house was perfect. Walking into the house, our experience started. Lots of space for us, a toddler and a 1 yr old. Plenty of books and games kept our attention alive. A large table for dining and an awesome kitchen well stocked with everything needed for meals. But wait, the backyard was definitely a show stopper. Well manicured with tons of running space for our dog, and a perfect little patio with table and chairs to enjoy an evening wine or a breakfast pastry. The neighbor dog greeted us at the fence and he was so happy! We’re so happy this house was available for our long weekend. Great location, minutes away from the French Quarter for food trucks and drinks. Thank you!

Great farm house. Beautiful backyard and great indoor space. We’ll be back!
