When we checked in, the front desk clerk was helping a couple. She was checking with staff to see what room is ready and available. She did the same with us. Our King bed room wasnt ready so she did the next best thing and put us in a double. We didnt notice til we went up to the room. I appreciated the gesture but it would have been nice to know we were being put in a different room. I went back to the front desk and asked to be place in a King room when one became available, which she had no issue with. Our room was available by the time we came back from dinner at Blend on the Water. Very romantic restaurant less that 10min from Feather Factory.
Breakfast was pretty good. Hot and cold with eggs from scratch, omlettes, potatoes and turkey bacon. To keep patrons like be from getting to breakfast too early, they stopped the elevator to go up to the 5th floor. No signs posted so i took the stairs. I guess i took the wrong stairs cus i got locked out, no reentry on the 4th floor and the door on the 5th was locked so i had to climb over the banisters on to the terrace to get to the dining area. The workers were shocked when they saw me, but very hospitable.
Overall my visit went well 3.5 / 5 stars.
Opportunities: better pillows and bedding (To call yourself the Feather Factory one would assume there be plush beds and fluffy pillows. They were flat and bulky. Matress was basic and no comforter. We are directy accross from the train. You hear it every 15min.
