We have stayed or eaten at several other, more expensive hotels in the area but this one is by far our favourite. Though humbler in the ‘posh’ quotient, the charming, authentic spirit of the place more than makes up for it. The scale is just right with a lovely intimate vibe. The hotel is nestled in the jungle with a spectacular view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. We saw as many animals and birds while relaxing in the garden by the pool, enjoying delicious drinks, as we did on our guided tour in the National Park nearby (worth a visit!). It is family owned and the people who work there are genuinely friendly, helpful, relaxed and fun to talk to. The owner who is often around, followed by his adorable rescue dog, Lucky, is happy to chat about the area and advise you on things to do. The food at the restaurant was consistently delicious (try the Bulgogi, a family recipe) and we loved the music selection too!
