Woke up bright and early this morning by the sound of someone hammering on the opposite side of our hotel wall. Then the drilling started. And the smell of cigarette smoke began to drift in. We did our best to try and power through it but it was impossible. At one point I even stepped out of my room with my phone on record. You can see on video the active construction happening literally in the room beside ours. Door wide open. When we went down to the front desk, we were informed that the noise was okay because it was "only a few hours before checkout". We asked for a refund on account of the fact that you rent a room exclusively for the purposes of sleeping. We were declined and offered free tea. I contacted my booking service (Hotels.com) and they again contacted the hotel on our behalf. They declined a second time, but thankfully Hotels.com is a fantastic service and issued us a coupon refund as compensation. After leaving them a poor review via hotels.com they finally contacted me and offered a refund in exchange for removing my review. I declined because I'd like to do my best to spare any potential guest the discomfort of dealing with this establishment. This review is 100% truthful and reflects my experience.
