Beautiful design, impecable cleanliness, pleasant staff, great food, large gorgeous rooms, comfortable beds, large pool with an amazing view, exquisite artwork and a truly relaxing enjoyable spa.

Rumah Luwih is beautiful. Styled as a mansion by the sea rather than an impersonal hotel, it is easy to imagine you actually live in this enormous house. Stunning interiors and exteriors. The rooms are spacious and the staff are friendly. However, Rumah Luwih is very isolated and is 30 minutes minimum from anywhere and the hotel staff only offer their own very expensive transport options. There are taxis and Uber style services on offer but they often don't want to drive out this far. For this reason, I would not stay here again. If Rumah Luwih were more helpful providing free shuttles or competitively priced transport all day and night til 11pm, I might reconsider.

Even though the property is in the middle of the city, you feel like you are in a place of your own. Very peaceful and quiet, can't hear the traffic noise from the main street at all. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Great place for relaxing and the view is awesome!

While a little out of the way of many attractions the Rumah Luwih is a destination upon itself. A brilliant presentation at every level with an incredible attention to detail. The food was top notch and the service was better than I had come to expect in even the top hotels and restaurants. Fantastic pool, gorgeous grounds and plenty of room for anything your heart desires. I will absolutely suggest this to others.

Beautiful neo colonial style with 4 meter ceilings. Very luxurious with an old world charm. Seems to be popular for government meetings and weddings. Very good breakfast. Not much to do or see within walking distance but they do offer free shuttle service to Sanur and Ubud. Hotel is missing a bar and coffee station, but they do serve both on veranda. What i found most surprising, and disappointing was the hotel does not have any chairs on its balconies. Imagine staying at a luxury hotel with a balcony facing ocean and you can't sit outside and relax and breath in the ocean air.

Quite possibly the best hotel experience I have ever had. Ok, so the hotel is a little out of the way, and if you want pulsating nightlife and a buzzing bar vibe until 4am this is not going to be the place for you, but if you want peace, quite, spend our and simply outstanding and friendly service then you must come here. The rooms are big, with expansive high ceilings, all amenities you’d expect and a big bathroom, stocked with complimentary toiletries. There a safe, tea and coffee, plus a complimentary mini bar, with drinks replenished daily. The on site spa is small but offers a good range of massage therapies at very low prices. The food is fabulous; choose Asian or international, and select a bottle of good wine or an aperitif to accompany your dining experience. You really should try the coconut too; a very refreshing alternative! The grounds are immaculate; the hotel faces the ocean (the sea is quite rough here but the black sand - trust me, it’s ok - is clean and plentiful) and there is a picturesque man made lake between the beach and a beautiful heated infinity pool, plus jacuzzi. There’s even a small kids play area, equipped with plenty to amuse the youngsters ( but far enough from the pool to disturb those who would rather not have the little ones running around). Special mention goes to the lovely staff, especially Tira, who really do go out of their way to make you feel special . They even opened up the restaurant an hour early just for us one morning! Fa!
