Very happy with our stay
Delightful pub/hotel in a really interesting heritage building. The staff were lovely. Our room was charming with vintage furniture and an excellent bathroom. A few little things here and there could do with being mended (e.g. drawer handles), but nothing to detract from our enjoyment. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, with all Covid precautions being observed. Breakfast was good. There's a lovely outdoor seating area. We parked on street overnight. We worried that it would be noisy but the street was very quiet later in the evening. Good location for Oakham, Stamford, Rutland and Barnsdale Gardens.

Perfect autumn break
Great location for Oakham and Rutland Water. Relaxed efficient service from staff with great customer care skills. Breakfast was excellent and bar prices reasonable. We would definitely recommend to friends.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was lovely and very accommodating. Service was great, food was delicious. Only a couple of slight criticisms. The furniture in the room could do with an update. The draws were very wobbly and the the shower pole not secure. The floor boards are very creaky and we woke up a few times when the guests above us moved in their room. However, overall, it was a nice stay.

Pleasant, clean room. Impressive bathroom and shower. Comfortable bed. Enjoyable evening meal with good service from the staff both then and throughout our stay.

Spent two nights here in a courtyard room. Great food and good location in this market town for exploring Rusham water. High levels of cleanliness and no concerns post lockdown.

A lovely old pub with a modern touch. Our room was so quaint, in the stable block. Lovely conversion, v snug and quiet, with all comforts provided. We enjoyed a super meal by an open fire and breakfast was in the attractive restaurant. The menu for each was extensive and delicious. One small problem was the green emergency ceiling light which over illuminated the bedroom.
