Unpleasant stay

The overall stay was very disappointing and not at all up to the standards you would expect from a brand like Marriott. Major issues: 1. I stayed in the Deluxe Suite and room was facing a construction building full of workers. I requested for a room change but apparently all Deluxe suite have this problem and only option was to pay more and upgrade. I would recommend to avoid booking this room category. 2. I had a sleepless night thanks to mosquito in the room. On request, I was provided with a mosquito repellent, but that was not sufficient for the room size. This was the biggest point of disappointment. 3. I had a booked for all meals inclusive package and I would recommend to avoid it especially if you are a vegetarian as the spread is limited and almost same for both lunch and dinner. Also, the place is really crowed and there is no scope of maintaining social distancing. On the positive side - The lounge at the ground floor is nice and a good place to relax in the evening

Great stay at Marriott

A great stay at Marriott, Kolkata Rahul Sharma at the JW Kitchen, Neha Singh at the reception are just a few names who made this trip memorable. All of them are great. This hotel and its employees make you feel good and welcome. Cleanliness, Warmth, Great decor and wonderful desserts. They have everything to make you feel good. Will stay and recommend others to stay there again. It was my first stay there. Will come back again. Only suggestion for improvement can be addition of more Bengali cuisine to their set menu Keep up the Great Work

Boundaries

I booked the hotel for my friend who was visiting me after 10 years. I thought it was weird that the lady at check in counter asked whether we were friends — our relationship should be of no consequence to her and this question could have been misconstrued in several ways. From desk staff should be better trained in which questions to avoid.

I asked several time to take my food after the dinner, the reaction is bad for 5stars hotel. Also I told several time that I changed my check out, but people called and asked about the car for leaving, the time of leaving. At the pool the drinks are in very old plastic glasses. For 5stars hotel the service is not good.
