Great location with very good service.

Friendly and welcoming - really good food Some area are a little tired - and whilst they had some good practices in place for Covid - felt that a hand sanitizer at the breakfast buffet Was needed - everyone handling juice and toaster - but no hand sanitizer available

A little problem at check-in with our booking but dealt with very professionally and swiftly. Lovely place to stay and excellent breakfast. We will be visiting again.

I'm not a dog person and never realised I'd booked a dog friendly hotel until i got there. On saying thst the room was clean and fresh, with no dog smell at all, the bed and pillows ere comfy and the shower was good. I didnt enjoy my first night, as the couple next door had a dog and decided it was time to start play with it after midnight, this included the owners howling a wolf to make his dog bark and even later in the night it was running around outside. I was booked for two nights and after hardly any sleep, I very seriously considered ending my stay. I talked to reception and they said the couple and dog where not staying the next night, so i decided to stay. The second night was better and what i expect from a hotel. Breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about, there wasn't a massive selection, no fruit and fibre or cornflakes, which is generally standard most places, no croissants and not really a lot of fruit available either. I found the walls to thin and the doors really make a big bang when they close. I wouldn't stay again but, it is a nice place, and I found all staff really pleasant and polite. I guess there are good dog owners and then there are bad, i coul never take the chance of staing in a room next to a bad dog owner unfortunately.

Dated but clean room. Room set up for 2 people but we asked for family as our daughter was with us. Had to get sofabbedvset up as no linen or towels supplied for 3rd guest. Service in hotel for breakfast very slow but courteous. Wifi stopped working Sunday morning. Reported it in the afternoon but not fixed by the timevwe left Monday am. Nice place but tired. Needs some enthusiasm and vigor. Bags of potential .

The gentleman who was caretaking was pleasant enough. I believe the lease of the property is up for sale and this is reflected in the general neglect of the hotel. My room was described as a 'luxury suite', it was far from this. I would say the pictures on the website are misleading. The cream carpet was stained and looked as if it hadn't been hoovered, there was even a red ball under the bed! The sheets and towels were fresh, but the bins were not emptied, or beds made, for the second night stay.

New owners since our last visit, been in position for barely 2 months. Acknowledge they have plans to do a lot more, redecorate and tidy up. Very friendly and they could not have tried harder to please, but little things still letting them down. Hope it is just a matter of time and we hope to be back.

Beutiful restaurant and great rooms. Good rate aswell. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

It was a lovely old property in a beautiful village and the staff were very friendly. It was also very clean. We weren't however very impressed with the breakfast, the continental was sadly lacking, just 2 choices of cereal and fruit and just toast, no pastries although there were yoghurts. The cooked choice was just full English or scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and the vegetarian option was just the full English with the meat taken away
