Despite arriving before the check in time off the night train from Lisbon, the owners were welcoming and let us go to our room straight away. Our attic room (no elevator) was airy, comfortable and quiet with good sized en suite bathroom. There's a cosy bar downstairs, and a Spanish restaurant 5 nearby. The town centre with shops and cafes is about ten minutes walk away. We went for a longer walk around the bay out to the long sandy beach where we watched the surfers in February while eating crepes. The hotel had a warm, homely feeling and we were made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately our 7.30 train to Paris meant we didn't get to sample breakfast! It was an excellent stop off for train travellers.
