Decent but could clean better.

Was pretty good. They had breakfast which was good too. Close to the city centre. About 15 min away from the Santa Claus Village. There was dust and stain marks on the side tables and desks. Could be cleaned better but not bad.

お部屋はシンプルでアメニティとかは何もない。朝食は種類は多くないが、毎朝違うメイン料理だったのは良かった。毎朝ワッフルを作って食べたが、簡単に作れて美味しかった。あまりお部屋のグレードに気にしない人にはとてもコストパフォーマンスが良いホテルだと思う。

An ok hotel in Rovaniemi, bit dated and for some reason has kettle and two cups in the room but no tea or coffee (strange). Redeemed by good breakfast and free parking.

Impressive and Surprising Breakfast!! Recommended

It was nice to staying at Hotel Aakenus, the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is always impressive and surprising everyday, especially the waffle maker , it is fun and interesting to have my own waffle every morning. Overall this is a nice hotel, my room is cosy and bright however there the housekeeping has rooms of improvement , for example the bed making is too rough and even one day my bed is not being rearranged or even the pillow is on the floor. The faucet is not clean, one cup was missing one day... etc, the housekeeping is not done carefully or detailed. I will still recommend to my friend since I really enjoy my 6 days at Hotel Aakenus.

On arrival the room was set for a couple, we had to separate the beds ourselves, not something you want to do after 11 hours of travelling and the staff member told us to separate them ourselves. The room was freezing. I was not happy with this. However the breakfast was exceptional.

decent place to stay

This place was alright. Good location, a close walk to the city center. I only stayed here a night before I went to the snow hotel. Don’t expect any amenities but they will hold your luggage.

Nice decorations with Christmas trees with snow outside the hotel. Though a bit small, it be good with a terrace outside, even with a ground floor... One of the minus points is the distance bergen the hotel and the railway station. Tough in walking during winter carrying heavy luggages.

Good stay in central

Overall a great hotel for a good budget! The best part was that it was centrally locates, about a 10 minute walk to the very center and the Santa village bus stop. The room was good and comfy- the only downside is the shower leaked all over the floor because the door didn’t shut all the way. It was also a bit of a pain being on the first floor- there’s a good amount of traffic outside and if we were to open the window everyone would see right in. The breakfast was really good. I loved the potato meat dishes, the cakes, and the waffle maker. I only wish they kept their coffee hotter and didn’t water down their juice. The staff was very friendly. Also for the kids, it was very cool they had a play area at breakfast and sleds they could take. I would stay again!
