Amazing and beautiful property. They closed the pools due to covid then opened them slowly but didn't open the children's park, with no explanation. How can pools be open and not the children's park, its all water.

This is THE place to stay in KhoaLak. It is good for afults but for families it is the BEST. 21 pools, a waterpark, a lake 6 restaurants and BEST staff ever.

This place is amazing for families. The beach is mediocre but the pools, water park, kid zone, and childrens’ activities make this an excellent holiday destination for families. I would not recommend the resort for non-families as the place is run by the kids😂.

Great resort

The Sands Khao Lak was an overall great experience. Here are some of the highlights. Big room, oversize soaking tub, powerful AC, nice deck, comfortable bed and staff was great. The breakfast buffet that was included was very good. Great selection and the food was good. Plenty to choose from for all types of eaters. They have 3 pools. One geared for kids, one for everyone and an adult only. Plenty of lounge chairs at the adult pool and it was quiet. All 3 pools closed at 7:00pm. It would have been great to have them open until 9:00 or 10:00pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to grounds crew to housekeeping everyone greeted us with a smile and a hello. This hotel-resort is definitely geared towards families and or couples. There were not a lot of people between 18-40 that didn't have kids of their own. While there are plenty of bars to stop by, it was not a "party" environment. The walk to the main strip is less than 1/2 mile and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance. The only negative I really can mention is that there a lot of little steps and bumps around the entire resort. The steps are uneven and in the rooms there is a step down and a "trough" around the tub you have to just be aware of. Not a big deal really. Also the beach is always red flagged because they do not have a lifeguard. Many people swam right out front, I did with no worries. This was a great place to stay.

Beautiful location. Family oriented. Amazing place to have our wedding at the Sands. Absolutely loved it. There was nothing I didnt like about this resort.

A wonderful place to holiday. Fantastic for kids and adults alike. Comfy beds, fab pools, amazing buffet, spotlessly clean, super staff. Brilliant position to explore Khao Lak. Brilliant tuk tuk taxi service also arranging pick ups from days out to local beaches. Can’t rate it highly enough.

We stayed here twice over the Christmas period. My family and I had a great stay. We were with 2 small children who loved the children's pools and facilities. It was our first time staying in a resort like hotel and we had a very good experience. Breakfast was fantastic in the mornings, a huge selection of food. There's a few restaurants on site as well. Plenty of options nearby for dinner in the evening in the main town. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful. The beach is reasonable and there is a variety of pools on site. We stayed in a family room for 4 people, very clean, comfortable beds and good wifi. Would certainly stay here again.
