The hotel is in an awesome location – it is downtown within walking distance of most of the sites and the historic area. Within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, there are restaurants & a grocery store where you can also buy wine, beer and spirits.
There is a lovely small pool in the back surrounded by tall trees and high walls covered in greenery. There is a terrace leading from the breakfast room to the pool with small tables and other seating areas.
We booked a junior suite with the terrace. Our large terrace had a loveseat, coffee table, planters, and a lounger. I understand that the hotel normally serves a breakfast buffet but everything is now pre-boxed due to COVID.
The service is great and the front desk staff and the manger were very helpful throughout our stay but the best display of exceptional service was the help they gave us when we did not get our COVID test results. The employee used his personal phone to try to help us track down our results (since all the phone messages were in Spanish). The hotel manager suggested we get retested and walked 15 minutes with us to the testing center so he could translate for us. He explained our problem and they agreed to provide results by 8:00 pm. The manager waited for us and walked us back to the hotel. We received our test just in time for our flight. Had it not been for the help we received from the hotel, we would have missed our flight and been delayed by 2 days. This small hotel is a little gem in a busy city.
