okay for the price
I had to be in Oman for visa issues and needed to get a room for an undetermined number of days. This hotel was used at the end of my stay when I could no longer afford the weekend rates at the other hotel. It is a bit dated in its decoration and the split unit kept me cold and hot off and on all night. I didn’t actually get a lot of sleep. That being said, the hotel is not bad, plus the service is fantastic and the people at the front desk were very understanding; they refunded my money when I had to cancel the last day, after my visit got approved.

Decent Pick
The Safeer Continental Hotel will check off all the boxes of any (very basic) stay-- clean quarters, comfortable (and big!) bed, etc. The room was easily far roomier than I imagined, which was a nice surprise. Though one thing I found curious was that the wifi logins and room keys are needing to be changed every day. I assume that's for security's sake (though I was never explained why exactly) but it can be slightly inconvenient. The area itself is not bad-- there are quite a few eateries and grocery stores around-- it is just simply not within walking distance of any of the more tourist-y attractions you may want to visit, so keep in mind what you may end up spending on transportation (primarily taxis which are not metered and do not accept credit card payments).

Great hotel at a good price!
I enjoyed my stay here! The room was comfortable, conditions at the hotel were good, and the staff was friendly. I liked the location very much! Right next door there is a supermarket, and along the block in either direction there are a couple of restaurants and coffee shops too. If you are willing to walk for 10 or 15 mins you can get to additional stores and a garden as well. The nearby mosque is also very picturesque. I had breakfast at the hotel on one day and it was good. Decent choices even for a vegetarian like myself! The hotel also has (an independent) travel company within it that I utilized twice for some very memorable guided tours! Pickup and drop off both at the hotel...extremely convenient! Overall for the price point I was very pleased with my stay here!
