A beautiful hotel and very clean after a busy F1 weekend. The reception, concierge and pool staff were very friendly and helpful and the food at the Garage restaurant was excellent. One criticism though, when we went for dinner the lady at The Garage restaurant entrance was not welcoming, seemed to look us up and down then after much muttering to another colleague told us we could only sit in a booth by the door as outside was full. While we ordered drinks and food a few more guests came in and were asked if they would like to sit inside or outside, no other guests had left the restaurant. My husband went for a walk to see there were plenty of tables outside, so we asked another gentleman if we could sit outside, which he said we could. Apart from our food being brought to our table we had no other contact with staff, no one asked us if we would like another drink and I had to go and find someone to ask about dessert, which was not clear how to get. Yet the table next to us just had dessert brought to them without even asking ! 3 Hours we were sat had 1 drink and a main course as we gave up with the dessert. We were then charged for 4 drinks we had not had, it was only then did they offer us another drink rather than refund the difference which we declined. Breakfast was similar, fabulous choice yet the service was slow, our coffee order was taken well after we had started eating and brought to the table when we had finished ! Such a shame because the hotel is fabulous.
