Mr
Could not rate this hotel highly enough! We were remembered from a one night stay last November, and warmly greeted. We never seem to have time to linger and discover the history, as its either our first or last night between the Algarve and the French ferry, but the walled city was a defence against the French and the Spanish. Being just across the border into Portugal, there is an hour to be gained (or lost), can be useful. Beds were great - food excellent. Excellent value for money, and a Portuguese hospitality! Enjoy, we did.

An overnight stay.
a fine, if slightly dated, hotel in a good location. The staff were all very attentive - even moving our dinner table nearer to the TV for the football match!

AMAZING LOCTION
Warm welcome, staff very helpful. Room huge with balcony overlooking the village. Bed also huge and comfy as was the en-suite. Super breakfast however fruit not fresh. We did not use the restaurant as a bit over-priced compared with local restaurants and bars. Lovely veranda with views across Alto Plano beyond the fortress walls. Only criticism is a bit dated for the price and the balcony screen was warped and did not open fully,

Tolles Hotel in schöner Ambiente
Ich war am 9.3.2013 in besagten Hotel und kann dies uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Almeida ist für einen Tagestrip perfekt. Das Hotel ist sehr hochwertig ausgestattet, das Essen ist sehr gut und die Mitarbeiter(innen) sind hochprofessionell.

A éviter hors saison
Désertiques ! Nous étions les seuls clients le 1er jour, le restaurant nous a paru bien triste et bien onéreux par rapport aux prix portugais des autres restaurants. Petit déjeuner copieux mais café détestable.
