My 4th visit here, this time with mum instead of husband. Had the spa suite again, although in a different wing probably due to having a twin bed and not king size bed from previous visits. Room configuration was fine however was absolutely astounded by the design of the bathroom layout. In order to reasonably reach the towel rail, you had to be either have “stick like” legs to squeeze between the end of the bathtub and the glass panel shower. An absolute oversight in terms of design. There was no way of going around the other side of the bathtub because there was a giant pillar.
Despite this, hats off to Aaron and Jack at cape restaurant who once again excelled in their teamwork and unobtrusive very high standard of service. These two young men are the front of service and are one of the main reasons I chose to leave a gratuity higher than the cost of the 8 course meal for 2. I wish more people had this level of service, knowledge and dedication to their work.
The breakfast buffet ‘check in’ was on both mornings less than what we had been used to. In the 3 previous occasions I have stayed at Cape Schanck, we had always someone to usher us to a table. This time around, no such thing, and you were left to find your own table amongst the throngs of guests. That was disappointing.
Despite the few setbacks, I would still return but would recommend a different spa suite and better service for breakfast
